  1. Got to be pretty deluded if you think the Israeli government would care about anyone boycotting a music contest.

  2. I’m not sure it’s that viable to expect him to sacrifice what will probably be one of the high points of his career for a symbolic gesture.

  3. Given that there have been no calls for him to boycott over the inclusion of Azerbaijan despite them starting a war with Armenia and engaging in ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabagh, I’d suggest that those demanding it over the response to Hamas’ attack on Israel are not doing so in good faith, or at least that their concern is more about shitting on Israel than any humanitarian position.

  4. good for him that he didn’t let himself be swayed by a bandwagon of clueless bunch that put his career on the line.

  5. Typical virtue signaller…everyone has alot to say until it costs them something.

  6. The Middle Eastern country of Israel will perform in the Eurovision-song contest.

    Make this make sense.

  7. If Alexander went anywhere in Gaza he’d be thrown off the tallest building. Whereas he’d be welcomed in Israel, regardless of his political views as to what is is or isn’t happening in Gaza etc. that’s what genuine democracies do.

By the way, has anyone noticed the reference to the “return of all hostages” as opposed to the return of the only actual, Israeli hostages? The not so subtle
Implication being that Israel has somehow taken imprisoned terrorists “hostage”. Pathetic, mealy mouthed shite.

  8. Olly walks through Palestine (gets harassed, insulted, possibly hurt or even killed).

Olly walks through Israel (gets welcomed, greeted, possibly celebrated).

    Hmmmmmmmm…..

  9. >an open letter by more than 450 queer artists, individuals and groups

Obviously, these people are entitled to whatever views they might hold about Israel, but I’d be intrigued to know what it was about this conflict that made a group of queer people *in particular* come together and write this letter.

  10. He may as well boycott, it’s not like we’ll get even in the top half of the scores with that song.

  11. Crazy idea- Maybe, just Maybe, countries that are currently committing war crimes, human rights atrocities, inflicting man made famine on innocent civilians, have a racial supremacist ideology, (where others are viewed as “sub human animals”) wilfully shooting children, bombing hospitals and churches….(abhorrent acts that often -Bizarrely-filmed by the war criminals *themselves*).. Maybe…such barbaric, sadistic behaviour, should not be given a veneer of civility and normalcy by allowing that state to participate in any contests or sporting events.

Russia was/ is banned from such events for very similar reasons, and rightfully so.

There *are* decent and good people in all countries, but governments that actively and openly commit mass murder, should be shunned by the world, and not given a stage to gloss over its criminal acts against humanity.

    But Eurovision thinks otherwise.

    Shame on them.

    Shame, Shame, Shame.

  12. Russia invaded Ukraine and competitions across the world banned Russians from participating.

Israel invaded Palestine and the world says nothing.

The Eurovision contest doesn’t matter but it would be a good opportunity to give global attention to Israeli genocide.

  13. Echo chamber

Considering the amount of other wars going on that people don’t give a shit about involving Eurovision countries
