  1. Wrong country, the wealthy were always looked after in Ireland, we even had a rebellion to change who got to steal off the Irish people!!

  2. HR major here. This never happened. The industrial relations act of 1946 was passed mostly to stop unions fighting and threatening a young nation. Read Dr. Hanley’s books about labor relations from 1922-1946. Interesting stuff and he’s the first to cover it.

    As Dr. O’Sullivan said in my class about labor law and history at University of Limerick, the Irish government has always been more pragmatic than idealistic.

  3. The wealthy in Ireland are taxed at higher rates than the rest of Europe. If Ireland was to adopt the Nordic tax model they would have to _lower_ taxes on the rich and raise them on the middle and lower earners.

    Go check a starting teachers salary (e.g. 27k) here after tax and in a country like France, the difference will astonish you. Take home in Ireland is 24k vs 20k in France
