Notice some things that confuse me but want to know what exactly this is.

  1. These are all the men that fell as soldiers in the city of Laupheim in the Second World War.

“To the fallen of the city of Laupheim, in honored memory” would be a rough translation.

“Rest (plural) in peace” on the bottom.

  2. Soldiers from that area that lost their lifes in the second world War. Remembrance piece.

  3. A memorial to honor the men who gave their lives fighting for the Nazis.

Similar memorials also exist in neighboring countries just without the “for”.

  5. Those commemorate the Dead of the 2nd World War fighting for the Nazis from Laupheim.

Its a disputed subject in the rural areas, especially Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Most think the people should be remembered but many want to “tune out” the Nazi part. Yes they died in a horrible War but the still died as Soldiers in the Nazi Army.

There are some Plaques that put it like “Those are the People that the Nazi Era took with them” or smth like that and then name ALL the people. Not jsut the Soldiers but also the Jews that were taken to concentraton camps etc. This one only portrays the Nazi Soldiers that died, make with this information what you will.
