  1. The rationale offered is they want to protect the pitch and the children who play on it from a) vandalism and b) dog shit.

    I’m all for access to green spaces, but there are some amount of folk who don’t pick up after their dogs. The folk who own the park have said enough is enough which I can understand.

    I think the issue here are the folk letting their dogs shit on the park but I don’t see them mentioned in the petitions and news stories.
