  1. A country which size is 10 times Ukraine’s and maybe 20 times more populated is outgunning them? That something no one expected

  2. I just wanted to remind that US was a warrant of Ukraines territorial integrity in Budapest Memorandum. The document in which Ukraine gave up the nukes for „guarantees” …

  3. A war of attrition is not good for Ukraine.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they were starting to draw up plans for tactical withdrawals and insurgencies in what would become Russian held territories.

  4. Not being able to expend ammunition because of shortages marked the end of the ARVN in 1975.

  5. Wait, people on Reddit were saying Russia was running out of ammo like 1 and a half years ago? I also thought Putin was dying of cancer, and Russian society was on the brink of collapse?

  6. If every US gun owner donated one case of ammo they’d be set.

  7. It’s over for Ukraine, they should have pushed for a peace treaty at the end of 2022 but they over played their hand and are going to lose bigly! Sad.

  8. For now what USA did in 2014-2024 years it’s outright violation of Budapest Memorandum. Absolutely certainly by Spirit of the Law.

Russia occupied Ukrainian territory and started killing Ukrainians from 2014 year. Instead of help, USA all 2014-2021 years cannot outright say that Ukraine fight Russian troops, and bought from authoritarian Russia export on 170 billions. And on $20B more thereafter ($424B NATO+EU). Right now main trading partners of Russia – USA allies.

In 1941-1945 years USA even to USSR, country with completely opposite ideology, supplied its most modern aviation.

In 2022-2023 years USA not only didn’t start supply to Ukraine F-35 and Tomahawk missiles, but from all USA aircraft, helicopters, attack drones supplied ~3 units. Completely and purposefully ignoring dozens possibilities of substantial help (500 produced ATACMS per year, 4,5 old million clusters shells, Sierra Army Depot and 309th AMARG).

And even when helping, then exclusively to stabilize fronts and for nothing else. Essentially sponsoring not end of the war by Ukrainian victory but as long as possible killing of poorly armed Ukrainians – by “Bleeding Russia” RealPolitik strategy.

  9. Trusting the West to deliver on their promises was his biggest mistake. He should negotiate and save what he can.

  10. I think the best thing Zelenski could do is threaten surrender to get what he wants from the US and EU

  11. The history books aren’t going to look too kindly on the U.S. and Europe if Ukraine falls. If that happens so will Moldova and then it’s off to the races if Putin sees all he has to do is keep fighting because the West fucks up a prompt, strong response.

Georgia, Armenia, and the Central Asian republics should be VERY concerned.

Hell, even if I were the Baltics, I’d be growing increasingly concerned whether NATO”s bigger countries would really commit to immediate direct military assistance. It all feels so wishy-washy, hesitant, and filled with guys like Blinken who conveys all the image of strength that a bowl of day&old oatmeal would.

  12. Outlasting their enemy is Russia’s style.

Although they lost much more men against Napoleon and the Nazis, they simply had a much greater manpower to outlast their enemy. Same thing will happen here if Ukraine doesn’t get more support.

  13. Such a tragedy… I had hopes but those hopes are now squandered. So what’s the next country Putin will go after, since he apparently wants to resurrect the old USSR territory?

  14. But didn’t EVERY military expert in the West claim that Russia would run out of everything within the first three months?

I tend to not trust what any of these “experts” claim, either way. Let’s see

  15. I suppose the biggest issue is artillery shells, which just aren’t very comparable with NATO doctrine these days in the quantities that Ukraine needs. Like, nobody can seemingly supply the needed shells because that isn’t how our armies operate any more

  16. Wonder what there plan is once russia breaks Zelenskyy. Hypothetically once all his military is destroyed does that mean the war is over? Or is that when it becomes an actual war between Nato and Russia?

This how I see it playing out. Either a consistently nato backed Ukraine wins back their eastern part by slowly eating away russias military and infustructure until putin finally says he was the baddie and he’s sorry. Or putins impatience is gonna be hell on earth for Ukraine once he gets desperate and tired of losing men, material, infustructure.

So what happens once either side “wins”?

  17. It’s a sad fact that we are slowly watching Ukraine be taken, it’s even worse that politicians are just wasting time instead of.. You know, sending weapons to Ukraine for them to use.

Highly unpopular opinion, one I hate to keep bringing up.. This wasn’t a war Ukraine could win anyhow. But they sure as hell kicked ass and proved they are a very good adversary.

  18. Mike Johnson will be remembered as a coward and a Russian agent.

  19. Thats probably why France has been a lot more threathening to Russia lately
