What the title says. Her and her family migrated to Canada after the war, and given sentiments at the time her mother hid a lot of info about their lives in Germany, any help finding more info would be appreciated, even if it’s just a point in the right direction.

Sounds polish to me. I guess the town was in the east part of Germany and is now in Polen. The Poles renamed most the cities which were German, so now there are no traces of this town. You can try it in a Polish sub, maybe some there can help you.
The town is Polish and belonged to Germany only for a brief period of time (Sep 1939 until early 1945) during the Polish occupation of Nazi Germany in WW2.
