  1. “The Lord works in mysterious ways.”

    *Trump supporters*

  2. Well stated. Now we need to keep hammering that home to offset the unserious and duplicitous that call themselves journalists while pushing a clear political agenda – ie fox, newsmax, info wars etc.

  3. Very courageous. Doing the right thing. Not the easy path.

  4. >Personally, I find it hard to understand how Americans who take pride in our system of government support Trump. All those soldiers who died in World War II were fighting against the kind of regime Trump wants to create on our soil. How do they not see it?

I think about this a lot. I don’t understand how so many of my fellow veterans can support Trump when he has so often disrespected our war dead and their families.

  5. “Personally, I find it hard to understand how Americans who take pride in our system of government support Trump.” Not too long-ago court docs were released where Rupert Murdoch admitted they knew The Big Lie was a lie, they purposely told the this lie over and over again knowing it was a lie. When asked why Murdoch stated, “because our audience comes to us for these lies”.

Since around 1988 24/7/365 there has been a Conservative broadcast everywhere in America telling Americans to hate Americans and America. The lying is nothing new, the ADMISSION is. Nice article.

  6. This article is spot on. Eighty years ago, America lost two hundred thousand brave young men, who died to prevent someone Donald Trump aspires to be from dominating America.

  7. Wow, what a well written letter. Thank you for sharing.

    This is my favorite part:

“The north star here is truth. We tell the truth, even when it offends some of the people who pay us for information.

The truth is that Donald Trump undermined faith in our elections in his false bid to retain the presidency. He sparked an insurrection intended to overthrow our government and keep himself in power. No president in our history has done worse.

This is not subjective. We all saw it. Plenty of leaders today try to convince the masses we did not see what we saw, but our eyes don’t deceive. (If leaders began a yearslong campaign today to convince us that the Baltimore bridge did not collapse Tuesday morning, would you ever believe them?) Trust your eyes. Trump on Jan. 6 launched the most serious threat to our system of government since the Civil War. You know that. You saw it.”

  8. Worst president? This is arguable, only because he was more of a fraud than a president.

  9. Deserves a Pulitzer for risking financial loss for publishing that.

  10. This is a solid article and the USA needs every newspaper and media company that exists to post something similar if our democratic republic is going to be saved.

  11. Upset, outrage, anger; fuck your feelings conservatives.

We’ve been playing nice for far too long.

    Oh, and vote.

  12. >The truth is that Donald Trump undermined faith in our elections in his false bid to retain the presidency. He sparked an insurrection intended to overthrow our government and keep himself in power. No president in our history has done worse.

  13. > The courteous writers don’t go down that road. They politely ask how we can discount the passions and beliefs of the many people who believe in Trump.

How can we discount those passions? Because those passions are based on the belief in an empty suit.

  14. I don’t give a damn about ‘both sides’ – only sides with integrity. And it’s annoying to be constantly told there are always ‘both,’ as if the magic number is two. A fact doesn’t have sides. And I sure as hell hope that in a population of 330M+, there are more than 2 opinions.

  15. > No matter how I present it, I’ll offend some thoughtful, decent people.

If they’re Trump supporters they’re not thoughtful or decent and they’re barely people.

Maybe in the beginning there were some who genuinely naive enough to fall for Trump’s lies but at this point they’re just garbage people supporting a fascist

  16. This is a well thought out written article. I can hear the remorse of the writer. We need more of this. There is zero finger pointing or political grandstanding.

I feel and hear this remorse to write the truth. I’m glad the author has done so and it’s about time all the journalists join in.

  17. Soooo this is an article from the editor exclaiming to no longer be partisan and just report the news

  18. When did journalists start apologizing for writing editorial headlines?

  19. The other day in reddit someone asked “what millennials think they’ll see in their lifetimes?” If Trump wins we’ll see a dictatorship on United States soil. So many people left countries with dictatorships to come here and then have that evil type of government manifest here. What I find super wild is that there are some people that came from said dictatorships only to vote for a fucking wannabe dictator. Mind boggling

  20. This editor is sincerely a shining example of an honorable man.

  21. Trump is a traitor and soon will be a felon.

    Get used to the truth.
