Russian tank crews are still called cosmonauts today…
Tank lighting off the afterburners.
Edit: This thing would light up thermal imaging like nothing else.
Fuck it. Rocket tank.
Not something I’d use if friendly fire is on.
I can see the utility but i question the sanity.
edit: also, better hope your infantry support isn’t to close when you light it off
It was Soviet. Kind of a neat idea for moving through difficult terrain, but could also go horribly wrong.

Fuck fact the m1 Abrams uses a airplane style turbine engine. It consumes way more fuel then a comparable diesel engine but in turn weighs much less. It actually has a device on it that recycles the heat from the engine into power so it doesn’t leave a big ole trail like that sucker there.
Oh, Ukraine helps make these rocket tanks out of current russian tanks right on the battlefield now-a-days.
CCCP did so much awesomely insane shit back in the day. I kinda miss the Cold War tbh.
Before the current war I loved the EnglishRussia web page, touched on so many wacky Soviet things.
Competition creates innovation. I guess this did not make it through but in times of peace no one would even try something like this.
A quirky girl post.
*How fun*
