Although I still believe that change all come from a military coup, this is the kind of decision that adds to trigger the coup.

It’s almost the same group, right? If you were 27 when the war started 2 years ago and you’re 29 now, we’re only talking about adding people who are a tiny bit older. They’re just saying “You’re not getting out of this when you turn 30.”

You have to wonder at what point the citizens of Russia will start adding all these nunbers up and realising this requirement comes from the loss of life.
Its also interesting to note information like this when people question the casualty figures that Ukraine publish. The push to keep recruiting more and more is a significant piece of evidence that the numbers Ukraine publish probably arent that far out.
150,000 is less than a year’s canon fodder. Increasing the age makes little difference. The people 27 two years ago are 29 now.

Misleading headline. Russia does this annually and they are being used purely for defence, not going to the front. They may possibly be pressured into signing contracts when their term is done a year from now.

If all Russians were smart and not supporters of Putin, as soon as they have a weapon they would all turn towards the Kremlin.
But thats never gonna happen there.
I do not share the dismissive attitude of many here. This will provide Russia with much needed manpower for the summer push. On the other hand it is no secret that Ukraine hasn’t resolved either recrutement or fortification issue. Poutine fully intends to punish this complacency. He may fail, but thats not guaranteed.
