5. These are used F-16s. And F-16’s have been around since the 1980’s. And they aren’t paying for them today. This is future payment.

   Yes, they aren’t at risk of being invaded by a hostile nation. But they do have a huge marine territory to defend from Chinese fishing fleets that if left undefended would come in and remove every single fish.
