Apache AH1 were produced from 1998 to 2004 and authorised for service in 2001. Ukrainian Mil Mi-24 helicopters were produced between 1969 and 1991. Even the retired Apache are newer and should be safer than the old Mi-8 and Mi-24. I think it makes sense to send them to Ukraine to make it safer for Ukrainian helicopter pilots.
No. Not gonna happen. To long to train. To much sensitive kit (could fall into Russian hands). To large a logistic chain. Most have been recycled into new Apaches.
The AH1s are not being scrapped, they are being refurbished to AH2s as part of the sale….the difference is engines, internals, new blades but externally only minor differences
Fun fact, new attack helicopters have been scrapped in favor of drones.
