  1. On Monday, thousands of children and their families will gather on the White House South Lawn for the annual Egg Roll, an [Easter tradition](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/easter-sunday-mass-pope-vatican-livestream-b2521203.html) that dates back to the nineteenth century.

But this year’s celebrations have been marred as Republican politicians and commentators falsely accused [President Joe Biden’s administration](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/van-hollen-biden-netanyahu-gaza-b2521357.html) of banning religious themes and symbols from the celebration’s art contest — failing to note that the policy has been in place during every administration for almost 50 years.

  2. >Much of the backlash began after Fox News published an article with the headline, “Religious-themed designs banned from White House Easter egg art contest,”

If we don’t do something about Fox not News constant lying, nothing will change.

  3. I wake up every day with dread, but it must be extra exhausting to wake up saying “how can I be mad today?”

  4. Bruh, just let the kids hunt for freaking eggs unimpeded, why do these sociopaths keep going after the very little childhood that exists? Are they that afraid of kids that they become snowflakes if they are having harmless fun? JFC, grow a pair and stand up to your klan leaders.

  5. Forced to respond? The only possible response is, “The party of domestic terrorism has made an idiotic statement, in an infinite series of idiotic statements and we do not respond to the levels of stupidity that they, and their media partners produce.”

  6. There are so many things about America that I only know about because of Fox News lying about what they do. I’m not sure exactly what that says about anything, but I know it can’t be good.

  7. Fox News stirring up drama again, what’s new? They can’t eben let kids enjoy a simple egg hunt. It must be tiring living on perpetual outrage mode!

  8. I had to do a double take. When I first read the title, I thought is was an Onion headline. Jeesh. Is there no end to the lunacy? (Rhetorical question. I know there isn’t. )

  9. Fuck me, it sounds absolutely exhausting to be an American having to read this utter shite on a daily basis. My sympathy goes out to you my friends.

  10. Everything is a conspiracy theory to the right i just learned to day Sean combs has been running a child sex trafficking business catering to democrats like Clinton and Obama. They just make crap up facts do not matter.

  11. Republican men are some of the weakest and most fearful people in America. What a bunch of babies.

  12. GOP 101 – Never let the truth get in the way of a good chance to rile your voting base.

  13. the amount of this insane nonsense coming down the pike in the next few months is going to increase exponentially, as the Right tries everything to destabilize people’s sense of reality and normalcy prior to the election.

  14. The takeaway here is that trump banned Christian designs from the white house

  15. It’s just made up grievance after made up grievance with these people.

  16. Wish Dominion would not have settled, and Fox would really feel the consequences of their BS.

  17. Somewhere, a PR director is absolutely flummoxed they made eggs controversial.

  18. How can these people rage over crazy shit day after day. Wouldn’t it become so routine and so exhausting? And how do you keep it all straight? My blood pressure would be through the roof.

  19. FFS I’ve absolutely had it in with these shitstains

  20. Former President who did thing lambasts current President for doing same thing

  21. Ah, Easter eggs! Hatching new trans kids every year! Be afraid fundies, be very afraid…

  22. rCon is having a fit over this and the Transgender Day Of Visibility 🙄

  23. The irony in all this is that normal people, many of whom aren’t even religious, enjoyed a normal Easter while all these right wing Christian nationalist culture warriors spent the day butthurt over Easter eggs and trans visibility.

  24. Just assume that anything the Republicans say is a lie.

  25. I learned of separation of church and state in the 5th grade in Texas….fucking idiots

  26. Religious freaks don’t like the idea that intelligent people who don’t believe in fairy tales have created an alternative secular version of Easter that is more appropriate for children. They are shocked that normal, non-brainwashed Americans might not want to have to explain to their children why a minority of willfully mentally ill people want to force us all to celebrate an ancient torture execution that would be rated a hard R if it were a movie.

Wait until they hear about Christmas.

  27. Why are they so evil and dumb? I am sp tired of Republicans being terrible people.

  28. I’m so tired.

I’m just so fucking tired of Republicans and their dumbassery, lies, fear, hate-mongering, bigotry, ignorance, and embarrassing idiocy. It wouldn’t be so bad if they weren’t so goddamned vocal with it all, and in positions of power over us.
