  1. Till numbers are down, I’ll continue to wear one. During winter I’ll wear it too to stop colds and flu since it worked a treat last year.

  2. Was in England last October and at that time it was very much a choice, although some places still had signs saying it was a requirement to enter. Had to wear one on public transport though, that was still in place.

I didn’t wear one the first day going into shops and stuff but it felt weird so I wore one for the rest of the week.

I’ll probably continue to wear one for a bit, I’ve managed to not test positive for Covid since this whole thing started and I’d like to keep it that way.

  3. I’ll be keeping one on to help keep my face warm while waiting at the bus stop in the cold as much as the anti illness benefits !

  4. I hope to God they relax the requirement for FFP2s in patient-facing clinical settings. The current duckbills are giving me tension headaches.

  5. I’ll probably keep it on the bus at least for a while. And in crowded shops.

Maybe I’d be more amenable to giving it up in the summer they’re dead handy as face warmers.

  6. Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water.

“Living with Covid” doesn’t mean pretending Covid doesn’t exist. We have good science behind masks helping with Covid, not to mention colds/flus. They’re airborne diseases ffs.

Likewise, this mad dash to end working from home and not even let it be an option – WHY? Workers save time/money, better for the environment, the list goes on.

If the “Pretend Covid no longer exists” crowd prevail, then more fool the rest of us.

  7. …can I choose to still wear it though? I hope the option stays open and it doesn’t go back to being considered anti-social to wear one.

I haven’t gotten a single regular cold since masks started. I’d rather still wear one in Dunnes etc.

Edit: I mean because some shopping centers and public places (my usual shopping center for example) used to have “No hoods, No masks” policies. If you were obscuring your face somehow, security would come and tell you to remove it.

  8. They’re really not much of an inconvenience at this stage, would be happy to wear a mask into shops for the rest of my life.

I understand others that don’t feel the same but I probably will still wear masks for the foreseeable future. There is a health benefit to them. Look at Asian countries who wear them pre-covid

  9. I’m going to wear a mask from now on on public transport and shops etc. Fuck it, so easy and such a good idea. I hope a lot of people keep the habit up, especially in the winter.

  10. it’s cool and all but i hope I won’t be judged if I continue to wear one. It just seems more hygienic with added incognito-ness

  11. I hope restrictions are eased on February 2nd, also known as national Groundhog Day. I think it will be quite appropriate 😂

  12. Gonna miss them. Crazy one on my walk to Lidl who will run to her door and shout “bhhaaaaaaaa” like a sheep when she sees me with it on.

Will miss a very important part of my walk to the shop.

  13. This went terribly in the Netherlands. If people get used to not wearing masks and the situation worsens later on it will be so so hard to go back to masks

  14. Genuinely don’t see the big deal about masks as a mitigation against a highly contagious aerosol virus.

  15. I have no problem with wearing a mask, and will probably continue to do so for the time being. That said,I can understand it’s a nuisance for those who wear glasses.

  16. I hope mask wearing when ill becomes normalised like in Japan. Just because it’s not a fatal illness doesn’t mean people are okay with you spreading it.
