Dating this whiskey says the coat of arms shows the general time it was produce. Can anyone give me any info on the timeline for the coat of arms?

  1. Late 1970’s going off the imperial and metric measurements, also the plastic screw cap. Not sure about the cost of arms

  2. That is the wrong coat of arms for dating- there should be another that says ‘by appointment to her majesty’- but don’t worry, it will be ERII, we can tell a lot more about he age with that pic.

It’s post 1940s because it is pinch rather than dimple.

No mention of Edinburgh so post 1952.

It is post 1964 because that is the post 1964 label.

    Plastic cap so post 1970.

750ml is post decimilisation so post 1971.

The imperial size relabled as 710mls continued until the late 70s, so I would say 80s.

It is pre diago’s buyout in 1997.

Does it say Markinch anywhere on the bottle? If not then between 1984-1997.

If so then between 1971 and 1984. Mostly likely between 75-84.
