The Uralmash heavy machine production facility in Yekaterinburg, Russia, is ablaze. It’s reported that the fire has engulfed an area of about 800 square meters.

  4. Russia is an ecological nightmare. In fact a nightmare of a country full stop.

  5. I wonder how a factory that produces heavy machines — and so presumably is full of big machine tools and some sort of assembly line — can burn like this. I think it’s a general rule that the black smoke we see here is the result of the incomplete combustion of some sort of petroleum product. So why the hell would a factory have huge stores of diesel or whatever on-site?
