  1. Ban far-right parties, dissolve them and as soon as they attempt a meager protest send tanks to the street.

  2. whoever voted for fit for 2035 and green homes directive have already done their damage.

dirigistic europe is what we do not need.
both left or right are the same thing.

  3. And then people will still complain about the EU being left-wing, despite the parliament being majority right -wing.

  4. The inability of centrist governments across Europe is giving rise to the far spectrum and we may be sleepwalking into a disaster.

  5. This how people intend to vote. To find out how we will be governed, paint everything except the black, red.

  6. It is so sad that i see so many far right and conservative seats in Parliament. Some people will never realize how they just keep us behind and we can’t get any closer to a better life bcs of them.

  7. This will be an absolute catastrophe. The people who were in power the last decades mixed with new extreme right wingers… sounds like a great fucking idea. As a young european i am kinda hopeless this constellation will get any good stuff passed

  8. The last 2 polls start showing that the far right hit their ceiling and there are even small gains back for RE and Greens.

It will still be a more right wing parliament than the 2019 one, but not as bad as feared.

  9. Have the Greens/EFA actually moved to sit to the left of the S&D? Until now they were “officially” between the S&D and Renew, even if they were further left on a lot of issues.

  10. Welp I guess EU is fucked. I wouldn’t be surprised if this leads to more -exits, and further slide towards fascism, or orbanism, or putinism if you will…

  11. Projections are useless. We should stop doing them. They only influence the actual result.

  12. So a smaller majority but still a majority for the centrist parties. Hopefully this new parliament will be more pro-capitalist and less obsessive about regulation. Europe’s nascent AI industry is already threatened by regulatory strangulation by the EU’s bureaucrats.

If the ever-increasing economic gap to the US is to be closed, then a greater embrace of lower taxes and less regulation must be embraced. The socialist dinosaurs should be shunted off to a plantation where they can do no further harm to the economy.

  13. Maybe this will be a wake up call that the current policies need to be drastically changed..Who am I kidding? They will learn nothing until we have extreme right majority in every member state.

  14. I still see the main problem in 2 points:

    1) I can’t vote for one of them. I can only vote for a local party.

    2) Ask someone “Hey is party XY a member of RE?” I am sure 95% of all answers are: “What is RE?” and “I don’t know”.

  15. I just hate there isn’t an economic left but pro EU (federalization even) party I could vote for.

  16. Five categories in effect
1 the pro Russian far left paid by Putin
    2 the moderate left
    3 the ecologist left
    4 the moderate right
5 the pro Russian far right paid by Putin

  17. EPP+ECR+RE coalition government would be goated. EPP in charge of economy and ECR in charge of immigration.

  18. EU nationals who live abroad: remember that for the European Elections you can decide to vote in the country of residence instead of your country of origin.

There is still time to request to be entered in the electoral register in the country where you live.

    See
https://elections.europa.eu/en/how-to-vote/ for the details about each country.

  19. There is a European parliament? It does something?
