  1. I never knew you could see Belgium from Ireland back then. And so clear too. Nowadays you’d be pushed to see Wales and that’s even from a height.

  2. I remember seeing in some film set in the UK during WW1 where women would walk up to random young men who hadn’t enlisted and giving them white feathers as a symbol of cowardice. Basically public shaming, don’t think it happened here.
