Good. The fewer people who blindly follow what the cruelest decide should be policy, the better.
Tory rebels plan, with Labour and Lib Dems, to torpedo legislation introduced by the despicable Cruella Braverman that would have made rough sleeping an offence. Their amendment will stop rough sleeping being a criminal offence in any way.
More power to compassionate Tories. So sick of the Rees-Moggs, Bravermans, Patels and Trusses of this world.
Alright. Its about time we started hearing from the sensible Tory’s again, I was starting to worry this lot had wiped them all out.
Because of the Tories we can’t afford bills or food or mortgage so they better decriminalise it. It’s a fitting leaving gift. Made us all destitute so at least let us sleep outside.
Workhouse next!!…then the poor can work for food, and a hovel to sleep in..
It’s miracles such as these that tend to happen in election years.
Just because a law is 200 years old doesn’t mean anything in of itself.
Vagrancy Act is never used to criminalise rough sleeping. The only thing it really gets used for is to prosecute aggressive beggars.
The overwhelming majority of rough sleepers are in Westminster and Camden – where the councils have long established structures to house people who want it.
‘Conservative MPs highly concerned about losing their seats signal that they could possibly, maybe do the right thing because it’s an election year then completely forget about it in 2025 before anything is done’
Fixed the headline
Good, people sleeping on the streets have a rough enough time without being punished for having the *audacity* of being destitute. What’s the next step after criminalising sleeping rough? Just flat out euthanasia, like a stray dog? We should be HELPING each other, not trying to cause as much pain as possible. Fuck’s wrong with some people?
Oh wait…..let them criminalise it ,then they have to house them ? Ano too easy but …
Braverman suggestion was to fine them £2500. She thinks rough sleepers get paid too much benefits or they get mp’s wages of £90k + allowances (£90k) & expenses. Out of touch of reality.
Not by fixing economy and carrying for those people? Nice.
