  1. After another 2 week vacation they’ll consider doing their jobs. Sweet fuckin gig

  2. He needs the Dems to keep his job. If he introduces any changes that the Dems don’t like he’ll loose his job. I think all this talk about innovations and/or loans is just to make it look like he’s making an effort on MAGA’s behalf.

  3. Don’t have faith in Moses Johnson. He’s going to put a bill up full of poison pills. The Democrats will have to reject it and the can gets kicked down the road more weeks. That’s what Moses WANTS. And, more importantly, that’s what MAGA’s Dear Leader wants.

  4. I wish it was true, but you guys know you just can’t trust those MAGA vermin. Not even if the lifes of thousands human beings are at the stake.

  5. I’m feeling yet another republican level insult heading our way…….

  6. If he changes it it has to go through senate again, so just another delay tactic. F… off.

  7. >‘important innovations’ to Ukraine package

Aha it’s starting to come out. He’s gearing up for the bullshit to come.

Here is what I expect next:

“The House of Representatives version of the bill is exactly the same as the Senate version, except that all the monetary amounts have been fully normalized. Using a special normalization method that turns all the actual aid amounts to zero.”

  8. He’s been stalling for months with this BS. He’s a slimy snake dressed in a religious dork body.

  9. He’ll change the bill so it has to be punted back to the senate. He’s stalling once again. Disgusting.

  10. May every day he postpones, one of his New Kids on the Block collectibles gets opened and pulled out of the package.

  11. He’s a Republican. That’s all the information you need to be wary of him. They simply can’t be trusted (unless it’s to take the country in a backwards direction).

Here’s hoping I’m wrong, but why is this so urgent for him now and not say…oh….all the fucking months/weeks/days he’s had before the Easter break.

  12. Reckon he’s doing Putin and the Orange Tumour’s bidding, whatever he’s proposing.

  13. “Innovations” is the Russian word for “bullshit fuckery” I guess.

  14. The Trump serfs will stop it. The US can no longer pretend to be the leaders of the free world, they can hardly govern themselves.

  15. Call him and tell him what you think. 202-225-4000. A live person answered my phone call.

  16. He’s only doing this because without Ukraine Aid passed, he’s hosed. A few D’s will step in and save his speakership in-trade for Ukraine Aid.

It’s a fucked up deal but I’d accept it given the current facts. Aid to Ukraine shouldn’t be in debate. It should be openly flowing. But given where we are, I’ll save Mr. “My son monitors what porn I consume” to get some guns, ammo, bombs, grenades, drones, missiles, tanks, jets, uniforms, medical equipment, and so much more, into the hands of my Ukrainian brothers and sisters in their fight for freedom.

  17. It won’t be the vote we want. It’ll be to vote on lending Ukraine money rather than giving as per the senate bill.

    Hopefully I’ll be wrong.

  18. I hope for the bill to get passed soon, I am beyond disappointed in my government even more than usual.

However. I am also as disappointed in our European allies. They should be helping and Ukraine should not be losing ground in the interim before we can help again AT LEAST. Arguably helping Ukraine is more beneficial to them than to the US. The EU gave some serious money to Ukraine recently and I loved to see it. But when is the last time they got some military equipment? They believe their security is at stake, they need to act like it. This is SO MUCH PRESSURE on the US right now to once again foot the bill for all of the military equipment to hold Russia at bay. It’s really not fair for them to put us in the position where so much is coming out of our budget to finance their security. Yes, we’re THE superpower. But our working people are also struggling and we need more money for healthcare and education, etc.

Again, just to be clear, I 1000% support loading up Ukraine with everything it needs, even excessively so. As an urgent priority. I’ve also come to love Ukraine. But also, pragmatically, Ukraine is never going to forget this anytime soon and is going to be an invaluable ally when this is over. Both militarily and for friendly trade. It shouldn’t matter, but maybe it does. Either way we need to act like there is a fire under our ass to get on with the aid.

  19. This ugly little motherfucker stalls more than my girlfriend on a Saturday night!

  20. Innovations meaning poison pills that will prevent its passage?

  21. We will find out if he is able to negotiate a passable compromise, or if he will let it through full of poison pills.

“Poison pill” in this usage refers to legislative add-ons in the bill that either neuter it or make it unacceptable to others. A condition that Ukraine allow cyber investigations about Hunter Biden’s computer servers would be a poison pill, for example. A condition that future aid packages receive unanimous support in order to pass, that would be a poison pill. These would make any aid package un-viable no matter how good the rest of the bill.

A compromise would be to renew the lend-lease that was offered when the invasion started, I think most would support such a bill except the few who keep holding the planet hostage over their misplaced butthurt feelings and utter ignorance.

Edit: November can’t come soon enough

  22. Note: a bill can’t be sent to the President until an identical version has passed both the House and Senate. And I do not mean similar, but *identical*. Even the punctuation must be identical. There are joint committees that work these out if a bill is close but not quite “there”; though in this instance it is more likely the Senate would simply take it as-is given how much trouble this has been (assuming no poison pills).
