Weekend roads, a reckless dance, Drivers swerve, take a chance.
But sirens wail, their fate is sealed, Caught on asphalt, their speed revealed.
Weekdays dawn, a different game, Drivers weave, no fear of blame.
Cops sip coffee, eyes half-closed, Speedsters slip by, their secrets exposed.
Driving with drugs makes you a mug, and those who do so are all but a thug
Almighty amount of guards policing the roads this weekend is what the headline should be.
The rise in arrests, comes at no surprise as driving standards are sinking before our eyes. From intoxicated drives to foolish acts on the road, danger lurks and has had an alarming impact.
Surprise Pikachu face,
everyone’s off their nut,
and flying around the place.

It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve had a smoke
These drug driving laws are a bloody joke
I’ve always worked hard and been a good man
Surely this isn’t our Lord gods plan
Now I’ve lost my job and even my wife
Wouldn’t it be easier if I took my….
Why is everyone talking in poems
Not alarmingly, this would be any given weekend if there was even 2 or 3 Garda cars on the road. Shouldn’t be just on bank holidays the lads(gardai) go on their Sunday drive.
While there is a lot more bad driving done on bank holiday weekends, there’s still a woeful lot of bad driving any other given day but just not a person out to enforce it.
Had smoke on Friday,
Went on the drink on Saturday,
Lay on couch for Sunday,
Done by the cops on Monday,
It’s a bloody joke, hey.
If they had the resources to enforce the law, you’d see this number of detections and arrests every week.
Also, people are fucking idiots for driving intoxicated. Especially idiotic to do it on a bank holiday weekend when you can guarantee the Gardaí are going to be out looking for you.
gardai’s delight
they’re off their legs
fish in a barrel
fucked up on eggs
I was cut off by a white BMW in Galway today near the lights at Fr Griffin rd, honked the horn and the guy stopped at the lights. When they went red he drove off.
Awful behavior, my mate in the car didn’t catch his plate.
What’s alarming about it? You leave the house for 5 minutes and you’ve already encountered at least 3 idiots who can’t drive properly, are speeding, can’t use indicators, make dangerous lane changes, are stuck on their phones and drifting lanes, and the lost goes on. The only reason more people have been caught lately is because there’s been more traffic cops and stops on the road. If there was more of a presence of traffic cops in general then maybe half of the nuts on the road would drive better and the quality of driving would be better
Translation. Alarmingly high number of checkpoints on roads this weekend.
Actually, I would love a breakdown of results. % caught at 8am. & caught at 4pm, % caught at midnight? etc
