The Święconka is celebrated every year in Bosque Papa João Paulo II, which houses the memorial for polish immigration, inaugurated in december 13 1980 after the Pope visited the city in june of that year. The wooden houses, seven in total, were built by polish immigrants in the 1870s-1880s and later moved to this location. The first to be placed there houses a chapel for Our Lady of Częstochowa.
The weather was much nicer this year, which made the turnout even bigger. There were so many baskets that they had to setup a separate stand. Happy belated Easter!
