1. This is effectively just a statement that the housing supply will increase by 2 million. There is no plan whatsoever in place. It would be incredible if those 2 million homes were actually built (and could not be bought up by investors) and for the first time give me some hope for the future. Highly skeptical that would ever happen, though. The tax credit is completely fucking retarded, subsidizing demand.

3. While it’s great that they’re at least acknowledging the problem. This has been a supply issue since before the 07 crisis caused the USA to fall even further behind building housing. We need to build much much faster and there are tons of reasons I don’t think this will make much of a dent. But at least they’re putting ideas out there unlike the other idiots.
