>Richard Burrows, 80, was arrested on Thursday after flying back to the UK from Thailand, nearly three decades after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
>
>Cheshire police had been trying to track him down since December 1997, when he failed to attend Chester crown court where he was due to stand trial for two counts of buggery and 11 counts of indecent assault.

So… Did he return to the UK willingly or was he arrested and extradited by Thai authorities?
> Det Insp Eleanor Atkinson said the arrest was a “significant step forward” in the case.
> “I also hope that his arrest acts as a warning to any other wanted suspects, demonstrating that no matter how long you hide, we will find you and you will be arrested,” she added.
Well yes, if you literally return to the country that you’re wanted in through official channels.
Most likely just coming back so he can get healthcare albeit in prison in his old age, I don’t think it was an error of his judgement at all.
“I also hope that his arrest acts as a warning to any other wanted suspects – demonstrating that no matter how long you hide, we will find you and you will be arrested.”
Not really. He found you.
Fuck me that’s quick for the British police. Knocked a choc ice from Farmfoods when i was 7.Still not done any porridge for my crime against humanity…
>Richard Burrows, 80, was arrested on Thursday after flying back to the UK from Thailand,
Ah, I see, so he (a child sex offender) spent 27 years in Thailand on the run. Of all the places in the world he could have chosen…
I hope he dies in prison.
Why are they acting like this is a W for the police? He won! He got away with sex offences, lived in Thailand freely for years ( a region infamous for pedos to abuse children so he likely had a fab time.)
Then at the age of 80 he goes back to fucking Heathrow and the police manage the bare minimum using its IT system to flag him as wanted.
He WON in everyway he could have won. Likely now has a shit healthcare issue so we get to pay for that too.

The Police bigging up the fact that this nonce walked straight into getting arrested? Imagine how much damage he’s probably done in 27 years. FFS.
He wants us to look after him now he will need end of life care. He will be kept separate from general population enjoying all the prison amenities. It’s a shame he didn’t die in Thailand where I’m sure he has been behaving himself around children.
Just in time for the tax payer to fund his retirement. Boy we sure do serve up some tasty justice in this country
