Which is the polar opposite of what’s been claimed by the “free speech brigade.”
So why’re they so mad? Well to the best of my knowledge, the act is one of the only pieces of legislation that codifies an article of the ECHR into law outside of the Human Rights Act. The right wing loons of our current government and those funding the “CuLtUrE wAr” ghouls have been trying to remove the Human Rights Act and divorce the U.K. from the ECHR for years now. No guesses as to why that lot want to remove protections on our human rights. So a law that effectively makes part of the ECHR into British law is a real spanner in their works.
