I am a non-EU who would soon be applying for a fast track C permit. I have completed all requirements (B1 spoken, 6+ years in academia followed by 2+ years on an unrestricted B, always employed). I would like to understand the procedure for submitting an application for C permit in Basel-Stadt and had the following questions:
1. I received prämienverbilligung until 2019. But in my understanding this does not equate to social assistance and should not affect my C permit application. Am I correct ?
2. What is the exact procedure for the application. The BS website (https://www.bdm.bs.ch/Wohnen/niederlassungsbewilligung–c-bewilligung-.html) states that I need to "submit an application". I find forms for renewal of C permit but no forms for first time applications. Can someone guide me about the forms ?
3. As far as proofs for language requirement goes – I have my language certificate. Similarly for no debt – I can obtain an extract from the debt registry. But how should I prove that I did not receive any social help (provided point 1. is true).
4. Any other does and donts?
