  7. Elected officials and candidates should be taxed for each lie they propagate, and mandated to publicly acknowledge their lies on news platforms. Failure to comply should result in forfeiture of their position or candidacy, with vacant seats being filled by an alternate party. Additionally, news networks neglecting to report such occurrences should face sanctions. Each offense comes with a tax that is compounded from the last.
