  1. CA people are ready for a $25 pretzel and trust me they will pay for it.

  2. The minimum wage should be $20 at a federal level

  3. He owns ten that each make annual sales of $737,000 on average. So he’s pulling in 7.37M and he’s angry that he has to pay out an extra 500K to give people a lower than living wage pay..

  4. That’s only a few extra pretzels an hour they have to sell.

  5. So what? That number means nothing without context. If he’s raking in millions then that cost is a pittance.

  6. Raise prices 8% and still come out ahead.

    Easy peezey

  7. I love how this is such a huge deal for those NOT in California, already.

For those who don’t know. Min wage in HCOL areas is already around $17-$18

The biggest increase will be in LCOL (Central Valley, Sierras, etc)

State min wage is already $16 hr

  8. All commies care about is power, control and re-distribution of wealth. But, you must produce wealth before re-distribution. When wealth ends government and its re-distribution go into the ground, just like in the USSR, Cambodia, DPRK, and Venezuela and pre-market reforms in China and India.

  9. Be thankful. Minimum wage is $7.25 in texas. This is why there is so much poverty. Governor does nothing to help lower class people.

  10. Interesting tidbits in the article as well as the hyperlinks.

“The law originated during private negotiations between unions and the industry, including the unusual step of [signing confidentiality agreements](https://apnews.com/article/california-newsom-panera-fast-food-minimum-wage-065e18510570481cf69eefc84b8359e0).”

“Confidentiality pact deepens mystery of how bakery clause got into California minimum wage law”

Seems like some contentious stuff was going on in there lol.
