Tottenham have a set-piece problem as Alexander Isak shines again for Newcastle – Premier League hits and misses

  1. I just don’t rate Ange’s style of football. It’s been what 9 months? Everyone has adapted to it. On the weekend Townsend had all the space in the world to get up and down that pitch.

  2. There seems to be a lot of similarities between this current Spurs side and the Rodgers Liverpool era.

Relentless attacking focus that leads to no real balance in defence, frail from set pieces.

I like Ange a lot but I think next season he needs to show he can “wise up” a little bit and tweak his system to suit what they’re playing more effectively. Feels very similar to Rodgers putting out the exact same tactics every game whether we were playing a top team who’d attack us or someone who’d sit with 10 behind the ball.

  3. I’ve given up any thoughts of Newcastle finishing in Europe this season.

The injuries still being a problem in April is ultimately the club’s responsibility and cannot be chalked to bad luck anymore. Need a complete reset in the summer and crucially we need more premier league quality defenders. We can’t get away with Paul Dummett on the bench anymore, not in 2024.

We’ll give it a college try and hope for top 8.
