  1. Top one is Warburtons and the bottom is own brand would be my guess.

  2. I don’t care, I do know that I would prefer the top one as it has some good colour on it.

  3. Top one looks like Warburtons.

Crumpets seem to be one of the few things where the branded product is consistently better than the own brands.

  4. I don’t know which is which, but I do know that your plate is from Habitat at Sainsbury’s.

I used the same plate for my breakfast but unlike you I did not have crumpets.

    I had toast.

  5. Surely this is a trap, top one looks like the leading brand.

I’d smash both with a boat load of butter though.

  6. The quality looks better on the bottom. I’d say budget is the one on top, which is also slightly burnt.

  7. Used to love crumpets until my ex made me some – IN THE MICROWAVE…

  8. The bottom one has so few holes, I’d hesitate to call it a crumpet.

  9. Bottom one is Warburtons’, top one is Tesco’s. Bottom one looks untoasted

Most foods I can happily scrimp on and get the generic brand. Crumpets are not among those foods.

  10. The bottom one is Warburtons, they’re much thicker and less hole-y. I genuinely prefer the own-brand crumpets.

Yhe Warburtons ones taste like flour and the butter doesn’t soak through.

  11. Top crumpet is Warburtons.

    Bottom crumpet is budget supermarket.

  12. The one at the top with more air (Less actual content), I am guessing is Warburtons. The other one…?

I used to buy Warburtons until they ‘Improved’ their recipe to make them ‘lighter’ by making you pay for mor ‘air’.
