The EU and UK are divorced now Liz. We are seperate entities, free to go our own way and do what we want. The other side of that coin is that there is no relationship other than that between rivals. Both sides are going to have to deal with that.

The problem with this tactic is that the UK side still thinks the EU needs them more than they need the EU, which has been proved to be not the case.
The EU is a huge market that can make up for what little UK had to offer. The UK on the other hand, can’t create a huge market out of nothing. The Australian deal is a mess, just as much as a potential Indian deal will be. Will be interesting to see how the “we control our borders” crowd will take free movement from India as part of a trade deal. With the high likelihood of tech jobs moving there because it’s cheaper and they speak English.

So let me get this straight – the UK makes several lies about the EU and how they’re all “workshy bastards”, votes to leave, has no plan, threatens not to pay money owed, AND THEN expects the EU to be the ones repairing the relationship?!?
The EU did not force British media organisations to print lies about it to make them seem like the bad guys. The EU did not choose Nigel Farage as a spokesman for the British people and or apparent frustrations with the EU. The EU did not force us to enact A50 without a white paper or an agreement on what the final deal would be. The EU did not force us to wait until the last minute to get a deal through grovelling. It is not on them to repair the relationship we chose to break.
