  1. The difference between a four day work week and a five day work week is with one you have a happy energetic employee and with the other you have an exhausted job hating employee.

  2. I don’t think us plebs are going to get a 4-day work week and this will just be another perk for upper management. The fact that he invested in golf and not something like streaming or some other form of entertainment for the “every-man” is telling.

  3. I will know this will pass Congress when Nancy Pelosi invests in golf.

  4. Very few companies can survive on the four day work week. It won’t ever happen outside of government jobs.

  5. What difference does it make for the millions of people who are salaried and work more than 40 hours a week now? Until laws are passed that make it illegal for corporations to have those types of employees work after hours, burnout will continue.

  6. Should I pencil that in on the calendar, or wait for the invite to show up?

  7. Bad news, Steve. If I actually get a day off the chances that I’ll spend it golfing are effectively zero.

  8. Isn’t it impossible to go to a four day workweek under the US system private health insurance? The fixed cost of health insurance would sink any employer that cut hours.

The boss would have to provide healthcare to an entire household of people in exchange for 32 hours of work a week. It just doesn’t math for most workers.

Now if we all had public health insurance, employers could compete with each other using things like this.

  9. Reading between the lines.

We will have to work 2 jobs and side gigs. Have 8 income households. And the rich will spend 4 days a week going to $1000 plate parties “For work functions” got it. The future is looking great.

  10. Say goodbye to 9-5 and say hello to 8-6 or say hello to lower wages.

There will still be millions of people working 5 days a week to make ends meet and to serve those who aren’t working.

Personally, I wouldn’t be opposed to going back to majority of businesses being closed on Sundays if we shift to a 4 day work week. Gives everybody a day off.

  11. The rich who already have easy cushy “jobs” will get 4 day work weeks. While the rest of us get a 20% pay cut.
