From a collection of Kodachrome slides I purchased several years ago snapped by a US soldier who was stationed in Berlin after the war. For years I couldn’t understand the significance of the image, but it appears to be one of very few color images taken during the event that are available on the web. The red banners and signs are from the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). I wanted to share it here and hear of any anecdotes or stories from people who may have attended or who had family members who did. Thanks in advance.
