  1. There is something so powerful in men coming forward with these horrific experiences. I hope he finds peace, and that others with similar trauma feel seen and allow themselves to heal.

If this has happened to you, it’s not your fault. You are loved ❤️

  2. Great of him to open up about this, especially since he is on pace to become a juggernaut in action media. Hopefully other men can follow his example and see that there is strength in vulnerability and allowing others to hear how you’re hurting.

And maybe someone as strong as him opening up will silence those people who would demean or tease men who do choose to share their stories. Not to mention those who ask women “well, did you fight back?”

  3. I hope men know that I support them coming out with their own stories when they’re ready. It’s a terrible burden to carry and you’re not alone.

  4. Really cool to see a man who plays such an emblematic example of traditional masculinity publicly talk about this.

  5. I think he as spoken out on his suicide attempt on the inside of you podcast with the guy to played lex on smallville

  6. Reading about his suicide attempt was difficult. I can’t imagine him opening up like this was easy.

  7. Always going to be Thad to me but this dude kills every role he gets.

  8. I struggle a great deal with suicidal ideation. Best wishes Mr. Ritchson!

  9. Alan Ritchson seems destined for greatness.

This just makes me root for him to achieve it, that much more.

Men who have been victimized like this feel shame. A gigantic guy like Alan coming forward with his experience will likely help others deal with their trauma

  10. That is a good looking dude. This is coming from a dude, who’s not into other dudes.

  11. It’s always good when actors, or any guys really, who embody what are seen as traditional, masculine types are open and honest about trauma, anxiety, mental illness, etc. Because these things are hard for most people to be open about and seek help for and being seen as ‘weak’ or less than manly just compounds the problem for a lot of men. The more that men like Ritchson, Chris Evans, Taron Edgerton, Tom Holland and Terry Crews (who came forward about being groped during #metoo) come forward the more it becomes normalized for all guys to. No one should have to suffer in silence.

  12. Beyond the Shadows was my introduction to him. He definitely has blown up recently
