As injuries mount, Road Safety Authority hadn’t shared crash data with councils for eight years

  1. This is one of the biggest issues in terms of resolving road safety. RSA has the data on root causes, but won’t share it with anyone yet doesn’t have the power to use the data to affect change

Its a farcical approach to road safety from them

  2. For years now, they’ve been hiding behind an excuse about forming new data sharing policies even though they are statutorily obligated to publish a road traffic collision report every year.

Their reports are anonymised so either they’re entirely incompetent or the data doesn’t scan with what they want it to say.

  3. Do insurance companies use RSA data to set their premiums price’s?

  4. Fire services deal with most (all?) serious road incidents. Fire services are part of/run by local authorities. Data for serious incidents is now, and has always been, available to local authorities.
