Corvids are just so clever. Magpies particularly because they have to outwit the crows most of the time. The thing I love is that the magpies used the spikes for their intended purpose, on top of the nest to repel birds. Probably because they are such clever little shits that they have antagonised everything around them.
If you ever get a chance look up a Magpie nest, it’s a proper bunker.
