I’m sure McDonagh will find a way to use this to blame staff wage increases and then up the menu prices again.
Sophie’s choice here, moronic to make a complaint about that ‘joke’, but it’s Pat McDonagh’s company….
That is so funny
That’s ridiculous, it was actually a good gag when you take into consideration the rebrand of Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
Very shitty on the GAA’s behalf.
Perfect excuse for them to slap another 50c onto the price of a meal, take out 10 more chips and start using the smaller coffee sized cups for all drinks.
And by “perfect” I really mean “any”.
Fuck, would the GAA ever cheer up.
It was too obvious. He should have done something less believable.
Like say he was going to pay his staff the living wage.
And yet you can run ads of YouTube with Eileen Dunne telling us that Claudia Winklemans comments are going to tank our economy,I don’t even think those were April fools related.
I thought that works of parody were allowed to use trademarked and copyrighted material?
Looks like GAA or SuperValu didn’t appreciate the joke.
That’s quite funny tbh, but I wonder if it was actually an active action for the GAA or some contractor they have working on their behalf to challenge it.
the gaa dont have a sense of humour? Who knew.
Also meta is just a bunch of robots so you cant even appeal it properly
The amount of fake ads on social media platforms that only intend to harm and scam people on a daily basis, and yet this silly April Fools prank is the straw that broke the camels back? Absolutely ridiculous 🤦♂️
I’m sure Pat McDonagh will be delighted. Any publicity is good publicity.
Didn’t even hear about this until now. The GAA have given it significantly more visibility by doing this than if they just ignored it.
Anybody got a link? Google is only giving me articles about gaa taking action and that the add is now blurred but still running.
Great bit of marketing. It cost them nothing and they’re getting free national media coverage.
The food in supermacs is overpriced and shit.
I guess it comes down to who do you disklike the most, the GAA or the lad who owns Supermacs.
Supermacs is rank, i ate there once, never again.
Talk about the Streisand effect, I hadn’t heard about it, I’m calling it Supermacs Croke Park from now on.
Same lads running Galway United’s social media probably
GAA bites the company that sponsors the Galway GAA team? Classy.
Ah would you fuck off? What sensitive ninny filed a complaint about an obvious April fools joke?
Are there a bigger load of whinngebags than the GAA leadership?
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bloke…
The GAA are money grabbers. Players are the fools. GAA will Probably ask for compensation. While players don’t get compensated for playing. Should get a players United together under a union and do what they did in other countries to get proper pay for the men and women athletes that make the GAA Millions. No wonder they love peddling it the greatest Amateur sport, there is the real April fools
