  1. Id imagine it isn’t hard to reconstitute your military if you’re just mass recruiting mobiks.

  2. That is hardly a surprise when the country is running on a war economy. People like to meme about Russian failures and incompetence – both have been true- it would be unwise and a bigger failure to completely downplay the real threat that Russia is. Even more so a Russia that is geared towards waging a long term war.

  3. “Reconstituted” with barely trained conscripts or diverting diminishing number of professionally trained soldiers from other part of Russia?

  4. “Reconstituted” in this context seems to refer to the number of warm bodies they have in uniform. Not to ships, modern planes, air defense systems, or other high-tech stuff. Bodies do matter, but how is Russia faring on replacing even their planes that they shot down themselves?

  5. If thats the case its time to add the trade embargos to China. I doubt China would put itself in that position however

  6. No cant be true the echo chambers tells me russia is harmless and eurooe should not arm itself ir get ready for anything…surely it cant be russian bots saying that

  7. I guess that’s one way of talking about using half of Asia as your mercenaries

  8. We should not underestimate Russian resiliency, it’s typical of them to perform like shit when a war starts and to improve the longer it continues. And they have definitely improved on many levels in this war. However, there are also obvious problems, their war economy is mostly based on refurbishing old stuff taken from longterm storage and they are running out of stuff to refurbish.

In conclusion, they are doing better than expected at the moment, but if they lose this army the way they lost their invading army they won’t be able to repeat the rebuilding process in any reasonable amount of time.

  9. They will keep sending bodies until they have the territory they want. It’s as simple as that.

  10. Well dub, they just called up 150k reservists while recruiting around 30k monthly.

By any means, they have far more than they had in active service before war, what was 150k profesional army, 2k tanks, 10k acv, and the rest of the stuff in active use, while having thousands of stuff in storages.

Russia was always about throwing bodies at their enemies. So keep sending Ukraine ammo and weapons to solve this problem once and for all.

  11. “Campbell’s assessment seems to contradict those of the Pentagon and America’s allies in Europe.”

It’s a lone opinion so doesn’t mean much. They very obviously haven’t reconstitued when their rate of fire is far lower than it used to be, their equipment quality has massively gone down and satellite images show their storages have been emptied. Unless of course “reconstituted” means just manpower number in which case there’s no surprise that they’ll keep mobilizing to cover losses.

  12. This is why it is imperative that the Ukrainians defeat the Russians and neutralize the threat they pose to global security.

Republican lawmakers need to grow a spine and do the right thing. Bring the aid package bill to the House floor NOW.

  13. I feel like a lot of nuance is missing in this assessment. Sure they have replaced a lot of their numbers, but there are still a lot of African refugees using 1950s gear showing up in Ukraine these days.
The more modern hardware, the more highly trained troops, the enormous numbers of officers lost early, those sorts of things are not reconstituted.

  14. They have lost all experience, it’s a military made up of disposable, uneducated men who only need to move forward till they die. It is going to work against Ukraine as supplies dwindle but this is not a military NATO needs to worry about

  15. At the same time western goverments are pussyfooting and sending ukraine only enough help to keep fighting but not enough to win.

Sanctions are just a papertiger with all thr commerce flowing thru the neighbour states, keeping russian industry churning.

Everyone knows this yet does nothing. It is tbh being part of the ukrainian genocide and it sickens me.

  16. It’s not surprising, although the question is- is of how trained the new forces are? Are they just resorting to old Soviet era tactics of untrained conscripts en masse?

  17. Why don’t we divert that Israel shipment of arms a bit north ? They are only bouncing rubble in Gaza at this point, anyway…

  18. Republicans – are you happy that you are on the side of Russia, Iran and China? I thought those were our geopolitical enemies… you stupid ass bitches.

  19. Uko’s will retrench where necessary and given resources, come out blasting. Promising, however tentatively, a five year support plan for the defence of Ukraine should not be lost on Russia.

  20. Russia and Iran are just depleting military inventory for China’s eventual move to Taiwan.

Briics is a real threat to the world order and it needs to be put down.

A democratic world order is a hell of a lot better then a bunch of autocrats

  21. Where’d they got the necessary manufacturing capacity, technology, chips etc?

  22. “Don’t underestimate Russia”

Meanwhile Russia: sends teenagers to war with air guns

  23. Russia is using powers much stronger than traditional military. Russia has already invaded the United States, and most people don’t even realize it.

  24. They got battered last time when it was all highly trained best troops. This time with untrained troops why would it be different ?
