Negotiations on ceasefire ‘locked’ after Hamas toughened position just before UNSC resolution

Negotiations are “locked” after Hamas toughened its position just before the recent UN Security Council resolution on an immediate ceasefire. Hamas introduced conditions which included the immeadiate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, a permanent ceasefire and the full return of all Palestinians evacuated from the north of Gaza back into Gaza. The Israelis said these conditions were completely “unacceptable” and “delusional”. FRANCE 24’s Chief Foreign Editor Rob Parsons has more.

  1. So if Hamas is going to return the hostages and wants all their people to return back to the North so what’s wrong with it? Israel should leave and both hostages should be returned either dead or alive. Just sick and tired of all the talks

  3. If hamas stopped killing jews war will stop. Easy for a sane mine but this …. Are senssles they cant think maybe of why stooped killing jews inside israel then why can live in peace. Dont tell me is abou land. Arab muslim countries are around 40 sou they got pleanty of land and dont tell me is because of realigion cos noone is saying they got to convert.   15. Whatever happened to: "Hamas must be destroyed"? Reality beginning to set in. If an independent Palestine becomes a reality (a big IF), then Hamas will form their first government. After all, the Taliban are now ensconced in Afghanistan, and Americans are nowhere to be seen after 20 years and $2 trillion.

  21. Hamas hasn't "thoughened their position", SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING they consistently demand a permanent and immediate cease-fire… You can have your opinion on that demand but it's the same it has always been.
