Someone got this for me from Germany and I’m not sure what it is 😭 it feels like Vaseline but I tried translating it and it said it’s for dry skin so I’m assuming this is some type of moisturiser but it has a jelly like texture similar to vaseline so what is it and what is it used for ??

>Melkfet is a well-known product that is mainly intended for very dry skin
a quote from the first [website](https://www.biolaboratorium.com/en/products/hautpflegemilchfett-mit-calendula-und-vitamin-e-250ml) i found that sells stuff like that and has an english description. it’s for your skin, that’s all i can tell you
Kinda cream or u can say moisturizing cream
Its main ingredient is vaseline and you use it similarly.
it’s not moisturiser per se but you can use it to keep your skin from drying up. and yeah, it’s pretty similar to vaseline.
It’s very fatty lotion you only use on veeeery dry skin/during winter on a paraffine base, so nothing for everyday use on your whole body. It’s roughly translatable as ‘milking fat’ because it was originally used on the udders of cows, horses etc to keep them moisturized when milking them
It can be used for elbows in winter, or on the nose during a cold when it’s sore, or on a sunburn, or on scratches and tiny wounds. I
It’s also very useful to prevent chafing or blisters. For long hikes or when running I use a good amount of it on my feet (under the socks).
If you show the side with the ingredients listing, you are likely to get better answers. But the name refers to the kind of fatty creams used for udder care of cows in past eras.
Fisting
It puts the Melkfett on its skin
Originally it was used for cows udders before milking. Hence the name Melkfett which translates to milking fat.
What you have is a product for humans that is derived from it. It is designed to protect your skin from moisture and chaffing.
There is an english wikipedia entry for it https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bag_Balm
Don‘t use it for sex bro
Melkfett, its for your wife/girlfriends tiddies after feeding the baby /s
Here is the product page from the company (a well known chain of drug stores) selling it: [https://www.dm.de/balea-melkfett-ringelblume-p4066447722697.html](https://www.dm.de/balea-melkfett-ringelblume-p4066447722697.html)
Ingredient list by them:
*PETROLATUM, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL, GLYCINE SOJA OIL, PARFUM, CALENDULA OFFICINALIS FLOWER EXTRACT, TOCOPHEROL, DAUCUS CAROTA SATIVA ROOT EXTRACT, BETA-CAROTENE, BENZYL ALCOHOL*
German wikipedia also has a page about this stuff: [https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melkfett](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melkfett) and links to this page in English Wikipedia which does indeed seem to describe the same type of product: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bag_Balm](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bag_Balm)
>Bag Balm is a salve developed in 1899 to soothe irritation on cows’ udders after milking. Bag Balm is widely used to soothe dry, cracked skin on humans.
I think it’s the best lip mosturizer, would definetly recommend!
Question is it true that it helps you in the Solarium? I’ve seen a bunch of people swearing that they got their tan so perfect, do to using it when visiting the Solarium.
In the UK you can buy ‘50/50’ which is like a whipped Vaseline.
It doesn’t have scent like the German product.
I use it for my lips and hands during winter times and I never had broken spring since.
Vaseline, basically.
Melkfett is one of the most glorious words.
Melkfett (milk fat) is mainly Vaseline. It’s good for protecting your skin, as example during a hike, but it does not provide skin care. It’s oil based. Marigold is antiphlogistic, so it’s a good additive.
If you hope for skincare there are alternatives like lotions or ointment. Also with marigold. Look for natural bases like plant/animal based fat/oil.
I see thanks my bad.
Its a delicous yoghurt, i love it but the yoghurt from nivea tastes better.

Also works great at removing waterproof makeup/mascara
