Incredible footage, it’s sad to see people’s grandfathers killing each other though but they had some pretty incredible fights. The entire sky was being lit up, imagine being on either side of that chaos
How exactly woud ze Germans get this footage while at war with USA? BTW, most of it was taken on the Enterprise, not the Hornet.

It’s crazy to me how fast the carriers can turn and maneuver in combat. Massive things busting 45 degree turns in seconds. Does anyone know what was up with the ropes and stuff hanging off the side towards the end of the vid?

What I always love about these old reels are that all of the sound is added in. There was no audio on those cameras.
