Audrey Dempsey, who is already embroiled in a racism row, also liked a comment referring to the First Minister as “Humza Hamas”

  10. The tweet mentions she “is already embroiled in a racism row” but doesn’t even mention what that was, so I had to look it up. In a meeting she apparently claimed there are “rising racist attacks on white children and teachers in our schools”. And that was just reported a couple of days ago…so, yeah, she’s been busy these past few days digging that “I’m racist as fuck” grave for her political career.

  13. It’s funny, because everyone just says “racism”, but this is actually true. I spoke to someone not so long ago at the upper levels (I’m obviously not going to be specific) of emergency housing.

    There are thousands upon thousands of outstanding applications for asylum seekers. It’s causing huge issues with housing / knock effects. Councils are being forced to seek accommodation by any means necessary (due to legal obligations to house) at a huge swell in costs.

    Landlords are also moving to provide accommodation for emergency housing because it’s lucrative now and reducing supply in the private rental sector. I know of one family who made a million pound profit off a single council for housing asylum seekers last year.

    This is not a political / ideological viewpoint. It’s just a statement of fact about what is happening out there at the moment.
