  4. I don’t think Crimea is in contention, Donbas reclaimed I think is the best case scenario.. Unless Russia collapses and splinters or allied troops are on the ground I unfortunately think that Crimea will be out of reach for the Ukrainians logistically and honestly at this point politically..

    Except that won’t end the war, because as the article points out the Russians are demanding that in addition to those concessions Ukraine dismantle it’s armed forces:

  33. I see quite a rightful outrage here. But there is one thing that bothers me, Trump want Ukraine to give up Crimea and Donbas to ruzia, while current Biden administration want Ukraine to return land occupied after 24th February.

    So the thing is that difference between those two wishes is so incredibly small that probably most of people here won’t even name it. So maybe it’s time to accept fact that problem is not just in republicans?

  40. The only way this could even be considered would be if Ukraine got an article 5 style direct agreement with the US out of it, skipping the nato assertion drama and all its requirements.

    Like if Ukraine is attacked, US boots on ground next day kinda deal.

    And even that’s a shitty deal.
