  1. > Joe Biden just had a come to Jesus meeting on a phone call with Benjamin Netanyahu

    Did he convert him?

  2. Don’t worry, the single-issue voters will move the goalposts any second now.

  3. Joe Biden is a damn good president. He’s got my vote.

  4. The hyperbole of how this is titled really detracts from anything else. Not everything has to sound so fucking sensational.

  5. Isn’t Netanyahu’s move just to keep the crisis going pissing off a bunch of Dems so that Trump get reelected?

  6. I mean I see the information it’s trying to convey but at this point I’m a little confused what Salon even is. Does it have a traditional news room? Are these all op-eds? Is this technically a gossip column?

The tone is so conversational and informal on a topic that is extremely serious. Idk find it a little condescending even though I assume I’m in their general target audience.

  7. This article is so poorly written it makes me wonder if AI was used.

  8. what even is this headline? He made a fucking phone call asking them to stop killing people.. Let’s see him cut Israel off from any military aid.

  9. It’s amazing how clear it is that most people didn’t read the link – which spends most of its time criticizing Biden for being terrible at messaging. Headline makes it sound wildly positive but the core point of the article is Biden is doing a bad job of making voters notice what he’s doing right.

  10. Biden has always been terrible at campaigning. It’s the only thing Trump is good at. It’s gonna be a grown up moment for America to decide between the two because campaigning does not equal good governance.

  11. Wait. I thought our presidents were supposed to salute foreign dictators and bend the knee to Putin. /s (sadly needed)

  12. Poorly written article. Click bate. Stop sending them weaponry if you’re serious? This conversation should have happened at the start. Do better.

  13. He moved earth? He moved heaven?Joe Biden caused the earth quake. Must’ve caused the eclipse too. Don’t give maga more headlines to twist

  14. That’s funny: I said that Biden was going to have a “come to Jesus” conversation with Israel in a comment last week: that exact wording. However, I predicted that it wouldn’t come until December. And I wouldn’t blame him for that.

Once again, Biden exceeds my expectations.

  15. He has done effective work on climate change, prescription drug price reduction, infrastructure, union support, supporting Ukraine, building NATO back up, undoing Trump’s role backs protecting the environment, he had the border bill until Trump screwed it up. Really, Biden is a very effective President. It’s brilliant.

  16. The fact salon.com has still yet to be in this sub should be a crime.

  17. It only took the deaths of 25,000 women and children and over a million people being plunged into famine.

Look, I’ll enthusiastically vote for him over Trump, but let’s not pretend he’s not the lesser of two evils.

  18. I really really didn’t like Senator Biden

I really really really like President Biden. Best president in at least 50 years and proof that we should never never ever elect anyone to office who has been affiliated with Harvard or Yale.

  19. I don’t care about your “feelings”, Biden is *objectively* a top-10 POTUS based on legislative accomplishments alone. Not to mention handling COVID like an adult after Mr. “Shine a light down there” botched the ever living shit out of it. Oh yeah and remember that recession everyone was predicting? Yeah, me neither.

  20. Politically, you have to wonder if it comes a little late. Is this sort of thing really going to shift the negative opinion of certain voter demographics?

Meanwhile, Fox News is attempting to ramp up its rhetoric that this means Biden is anti-Israel. Conservative media is desperate to flip American Jewish voters.

  21. Given his history, he’s actually a surprisingly progressive forward leaning president. He’s had his moments of corporate shillery like all US politicians, but this whole tax the rich agenda he’s pushing hard is surprisingly excellent.

  22. Fox was a positive mouthpiece for Trump
    Is there one for Biden?
Sadly, people don’t seem to appreciate his accomplishments in both the global and domestic stage. If Trump gets in again all of that progress will be undone.

  23. Am I the only person who noticed that Israel announced it’s pulling out of South Gaza after this phone call?

  24. People really need to stop looking at every event in the world through the microcosm of our election. Both the “Genocide Joe” crowd and this author.

    Y’all fucking playing with fire.

Biden doesn’t call this an ultimatum because while they would win points with the protest crowd, it would directly impede his efforts to convince Israel to pull their collective head out of their asses and his goal of a free and independent Palestine.

You push an ego case like Netanyahu in public and he’ll start acting out to make himself look independent and strong in the face of the US.  You push the man in private and give him cover to save face in public, and that’s how you ACTUALLY. SAVE. LIVES.

  25. Biden’s relentless pressure on Israel is why they finally caved on allowing more aid into Gaza and are even implicitly agreeing in part to one of Hamas’ preconditions for a ceasefire by pulling out of much of Gaza. Politics and geopolitics is maddening for how often it seems like nothing is happening, but decades of politics can happen in a matter of days and it’s often about laying the groundwork to move in that direction when the circumstances present themselves.
