Seems like they're resurfacing to make it look more appealing, I reckon it'll be closed permanently to cars as no one is going to stump up the cost of fixing it properly.

  1. It only took three years to build and cost £82,117 (worth £8,938,027.71 in 2024) and it’s been 5 years and £13 million just to stop it from degrading further.

    They could have knocked it down and built a bridge fit for the Twenty First Century that hasn’t been damaged by three lots of bombs.

    But we can’t do that because it’s bloody 2* listed.

  2. Announcement just before the London Mayoral election is of course totally coincidental.
