1. This sub is hugely right-wing. Most of them are bots and paid shills, but there’s a strong following of real social/economic conservative Daily Mail/Sun types. You’re not going to have a good time here if you’re anyone to the left of Enoch Powell.

2. Yes, it’s bad. These people are going to kill Alfreds dream while claiming to defend it. I can only hope the generations that come next see through the nonsense. Sadly, with less social mobility, it’s becoming less likely year on year.

   The sad thing about the right’s arguments are that they are never well formed. There is nothing that can be debated, no evidence, just unscientific but plausible claims and half truths. Anything other than economics, they have lost. You can tell because when there is a new study that confirms their bias, they get extremely excited. Only for it to be debunked some time later.
