Dear German Redditors and Redditors in Germany,
I need your help! I´ve lost something dear to me and my girlfriend, be it a silly thing. See, we have a ¨[travel mascot](https://imgur.com/gallery/JdUbZot)¨. A small cuddly toy that we adore and take on all our trips; together or solo. Yes, we´re fully functional adults. We´ve travelled together to, among others, Portugal, Spain, France, the UK, HongKong, Switzerland, Turkey, Italy, etc etc.
Last week I made a beautiful roadtrip with Nom-Nom on my classic Motorscooter (a Honda Spacy CH250) from Amsteram to Switzerland and back. She was riding in the front pocket of my jacket and was having a blast! All went well and she enjoyed the trip and view, untill…
I was making my way from Saarbrücken to Amsterdam, riding towards Trier. After just having left the roundabout in Zerf, I felt something hit my leg and fall off the scooter. I pulled over and checked my pockets; phone, keys, wallet… all there. Must have been a bug or so, I thought, and happily went on my way.
It wasn´t untill hours and a few 100km later that I noticed [Nom-Nom](https://imgur.com/gallery/JdUbZot) was gone. I was 100% sure she was in my pocket when I left the hotel. I wondered where she could have gone. Checked my bag, the case on my scooter, the glove compartment, then checked everything again until I remembered the ¨falling thing¨ near Zerf. I let out a very loud ¨NOOOOOOO¨ as I realized I couldn´t ride back and felt sad.
Now I can not 100% guarentee that I lost her there. However; it was the only moment in the whole trip I felt something fall. When I got home and told my girlfriend at first she didnt believe me. After all, how could I lose a travel buddy that has travelled to so many places with us?
Luckily for me I couldt distinctly remember the shape of the road where I must have lost her. I backtraced my route from Trier to find a bend and roundabout that matched my memory, looked at the satalite images on google and I managed to find it! Turns out it´s just outside of Zerf, going towards Trier on the 268. The coördinats are: 49°35’53.0″N 6°40’40.3″E
Now I realize it might sound like and idiotic story and request, but if there is someone in this area willing to go on a sundaydrive and have a look; we would be delighted. We really love taking Nom-Nom on our trips and taking pictures with here and cool spots. We´ve been doing so for a while now and would like to continue!
NomNom herself is a little stuffed mouse-like toy and about 15cm´s tall. [I´ve uploaded some pictures of her to Imgur, so you have an idea.](https://imgur.com/gallery/JdUbZot) My best geuss is that she´s at the 268, in that spot called the ¨Am Schurperberg¨ right around number 4 or 5, but she could be anywhere in the inside of that bend right before the sharp bend.
It would mean a lot if someone could have a look. Ofcourse we´d be willing to reward her safe return to us. I propose I could send the finder of Nom-Nom a nice goodybox from the Netherlands. Some beers, cheese and stroopwafels?

I sincerely hope you find someone. Does Trier have a subreddit as well where you can try your luck?
For the future, I’d suggest sewing an AirTag into the little guy. Works wonders for the stuffed animals our kids lose all over the house but really need to sleep.

Another idea: posting in local Facebook groups might help as well.
Oh no, I hope you both find each other again. Please call the local Fundbüro (lost and found service). If you are lucky someone might have found your friend and gave it to them.
Also for the future give him a name tags with your email address or phone number. That way the finder can reach you. I did that for all my travel companions (excluding the human ones) and it worked wonders.
