No, they aren’t running out. They’ve been riding on top since at least Chechnya, most likely since Afghanistan. Horrendous soviet design makes the dismounting from inside the vehicle in a combat scenario a nightmare. Before the reality that (much like all pre GWoT IFVs/APCs) they don’t have floor armor or sloped blast hulls, so AT mines can fuck up dismounts and the vehicle at the same time. Ride on top. You’re less likely to die to an AT mine or getting trapped and roasted inside your burning vehicle.

While Russia is backed by China, North Korea, and Iran they will never run out of equipment for meat assaults
Maybe they are trying different tactics. To conserve armor for any breakthrough, they send forward disposable convicts to spot and expend Ukrainian resources. Ukraine has to chase these hapless russians around with drones and artillery until they are fertilizer. If Ukraine is low on resources this works for putin.
Their strategy is to take a bunch of tanks and ifv’s loaded with troops,and as long as they can dump those 20 or so soldiers off at the tree line, then the vehicles are expendable along with half of the soldiers, and this is considered a successful operation for russia.
They still have thousands of these vehicles, and now those Chinese carts, soon it will be just regular cars. This whole strategy is just mind-blowing 🤯.

Russia can easily replace those and probably already has. Ukraine can’t win unless the west steps in. Our government needs to make a play.
