As per title, I'm selling my car to a private person who is going to finance it.

We both signed a digital contract on NAF.no and he showed me an e-mail from his bank saying that the loan was approved and the payment will be carried out when the car is registered to him.

But how can I be sure that this is real and I'll be paid? I simple transfer the car to him and hope the bank will indeed pay me? That doesn't make much sense to me..

Is there some sort of proof that I can request from his bank that the loan was approved and that the payment will be carried out?

  1. You could call the bank and verify?
The money should be paid out to your account directly from the bank as soon as they see proof that a “salgsmelding” is signed. You can do this on paper and not file it until the money is in your account. The registration process does not need to be completed, only the sales notice.

  2. When I sold my car I asked the buyers to have the bank send me proof that they would pay me. They called the bank and sorted it out.

I received an email from DNB stating that I would receive X amount when car with registration number Y was re-registered in the buyers name.
