1. This is kinda stupid in a sense , because imagine how many other human rights would be violated if we switched of fossil fuels today, yes I get that we are far too slow and the tax system needs to change to enable this but you can’t win with human rights either way

2. The case has no sanction or penalty against the Swiss.

   So effectively the court has joined the protestors and said “Hey stop! Please?” My guess is they will shrug and continue on as normal without any impact.

3. This is an important ruling that recognizes the harm to humans caused by greenhouse gas emissions. An even bigger issue is the harm to all the non-human species in our family, which our current legal paradigm cannot yet address. Progress is being made on that front, but we have a long way to go to incorporate the needs and rights of the rest of the family in our legal framework and accelerate our shift to a truly sustainable civilization.
