Is this legal? One of the people here in Qormi has a garage full of caged birds. :( It has been here since I moved to Malta a year ago…

1. Yes, he’s probably an ornithologist by the birds it looks he has. Those birds will die if you set them free. Could he had them in a better place, of course. But they are alive which means he’s taking care of them and at first look they seem healthy.

2. If you just listen you’ll here bird songs from half of the garages, from tons of birds in tiny cages living in darkness most of their lives. Disgusting.

4. It’s actually illegal not to have a dusty garage full of birds in Malta

5. It’s illegal only if the owner of the garage is a migrant from a third world country.

6. Unfortunatly, yes, this is legal.

   Although I feel sorry for the birds and wish they weren’t kept in such dark conditions.
